Steadvale - Case Study
About Steadvale
Steadvale was established in 1979 by two partners specialising in the reciprocating compressor market. Steadvale has grown into one of the most respected independent providers of Compressor and Dryer servicing, replacement parts and new installations.
Strategic Alliances Steadvale has set up a strategic alliance with Josef Mehrer and Almig to supply and maintain their compressors for new and current installations within the UK and Ireland.
Steadvale’s modern headquarters and multi-functional factory guarantees a prompt response to all their customers throughout the UK and world-wide. With exceptional servicing, and their guarantee replacement of parts and hardware they fulfil all their customer’s needs for the UK, Europe and world-wide.
The Challenge
With a 30-50 employee workforce based in their Scottish manufacturing facility and a handful of remote engineers around the country. Steadvale needed a robust and reliable time and attendance solution from a provider who could also help track remote off site workers.
Having historically used timesheets but now with an expanding workforce, payroll and operations wanted something to reduce the administration time internally and provide control tools to manage the wage bill. In addition, Steadvale desired to modernise their fire reporting process and have live on site off site data available.
Regarding complexity, Steadvale manufacturing team operates an early and late rotating shift pattern. This meant that easy rostering and shift scheduling was important. Steadvale also wanted to be made aware of ‘daily’ overtime and wanted a system that had the ability to monitor unpaid or paid lunch breaks.
“Having looked a quite a few systems during the procurement process, the Chronicle Online product was easy to understand and something I wanted to use.”
Colin Stevenson, HSQA/Service Co-ordinator
The Solution
Due to the remote engineers at Steadvale, the Chronicle Online smart phone clocking app was a natural choice for the engineering team and the Accu-touch Biometric device was a good fit for production as it supported activity and cost centre tracking, lunch break monitoring and provided the piece of mind that there is no ‘buddy clocking’ going on in a 24hrs manufacturing operation.
Chronicle deployed and configured in a few days remotely and sent a Chronicle engineer to install on site, this made the installation and set-up process incredibly quick. The Chronicle engineer also helped enrol and train new users on how to clock in and out reducing bedding in time.
“Chronicles implementation team helped us create new employees and configure shifts patterns during training this help immensely in reduce the set up time”
Colin Stevenson, HSQA/Service Co-ordinator
